about

Story behind the title:
Louis (drummer), was in the city with his second cousin (who is from Brisbane) showing him around Melbourne. They were about to take the tram home when he spotted a mutual friend (we'll call him dave) he met at a party. They made sensual, prolonged eye contact so Louis decided to go over and say hi. Louis went to shake Dave's hand but was denied the privilege and was hit with "Don't shake my hand it's greasy i've been eating popcorn." Shattered, Louis obliged. To move the conversation away from that devastating blow, Louis asked how Dave was. Dave replied with a poorly articulated "I dunno I was at Alpine Camp." Louis then asked about their mutual friend and was met with the same poorly articulated "sdafgvjakgd Alpine Camp.' Most troublingly Louis asked what time he got off school and received the same icy response. Cutting his losses, in a desperate attempt to abort the conversation our hero Louis gave the universal symbol to "dap a motherfucker up" but "dap a motherfucker up" he did not, leaving Louis the empty husk where a man once was. He hung his head in shame and took the tram home where he listened to Dial Denial's seminal 2019 release "2023" and punched a wall.

lyrics

Took my my time to get to know you,
Would you want to get to know me too?
Spend my hours of everyday thinking of you
and what you say to my face.

What if we were a match? What if we could?
Would you give it a chance?
What if we were a match? what if we could?
Would you give it a chance? I guess i'll never know.

Travelling wasn't my favourite thing to do,
But I always did it for you.

What if we were a match? What if we could?
Would you give it a chance?
What if we were a match? what if we could?
Would you give it a chance? I guess i'll never know.
